Hobbies Week
01/12-01/16 2026
Hobbies reveal a lot about who we are. They reveal our interests, our creativity, and our ways of dealing with stress. Thus, we decided to launch Hobbies Week during Rush Week to promote individuality, socialization, and the need to make time for things we enjoy.
We showcased different kinds of hobbies to illustrate that self-confidence and self-care come in many forms. These include physical hobbies, game-related hobbies, creative hobbies, intellectual hobbies, and relaxing hobbies. By promoting these hobbies, we encouraged our readers to find what works for them without comparison.

Hobbies are a very strong protective factor because they decrease academic stress, increase confidence, and give a sense of balance. Doing things outside of school allows students to get back in touch with themselves and focus on enjoyment, not productivity.
Finally, to end the week, we had an interactive event with open stations where students could choose to do whatever game or activity they wanted. The purpose was simple: provide a space where everyone could come and feel comfortable, try something new, and meet new people.
Monday - Day 1: Physical Activity
Being physically active is a basic yet powerful strategy for supporting mental and physical health. Physical activity can help you release tension, improve your mood, and clear your mind, especially during a busy week in school. Physical activity, whether it’s a sport, walking, or just being active with your friends, can help you feel more confident and grounded.

Tuesday - Day 2: Game Activity
This space that game activities offer is where there is room for having fun, laughing, and relating without pressure. Playing games, therefore, enables students to have a break from over-thinking and academic pressure, and it allows them to relate to one another in a more relaxed environment. Enabling them to build up their social confidence, reminding them that having fun is equally important as being productive.
Wednesday - Day 3: Creative Activity
The freedom to express themselves in their own way is provided by creative activities. Emotions can be released by engaging in art, music, writing, and other forms of creativity without needing to find any words or explain them. Creativity eliminates stress and boosts self-confidence by concentrating on expression rather than achievement.

Thursday - Day 4: Intellectual Activity
By doing intellectual activities, you can promote curiosity and participation beyond grades and performance. Reading, puzzles, or strategy games serve as a reminder to students that learning can be a fun and self-initiated process; helping to shift the emphasis from pressure to growth, exploration, and confidence in one’s abilities.
Friday - Day 5: Relaxing Activity
Relaxing activities give students the permission to slow down and recharge. Taking time to rest helps reduce anxiety, prevent burnout, and promote overall well-being. This day continues to teach that rest is not something to feel guilty about, but something necessary to maintain good mental health.

The Hobbies Week ended with an interactive session where the students were able to move around freely to engage in their preferred games and hobbies. The session was meant to relax and socialize in a stress-free environment. For more information on the event and other initiatives, please visit our Events page.
