Reset Your Resolution
14/01/2026

Reset Your Resolutions was an interactive session focused on understanding the reality behind New Year’s resolutions and how they relate to mental well-being. We began by discussing what resolutions usually look like and why many people feel motivated to set them at the start of the year.
The discussion then explored why resolutions can be difficult to maintain over time. Students reflected on common challenges such as motivation fading, goals feeling too vague, old habits staying the same, and the lack of accountability or clear plans. This helped normalize the experience of struggling with goals and showed that it is something many people face.
We shifted the focus toward healthier ways to approach goal-setting by talking about building routines, breaking goals into smaller steps, setting specific and measurable goals, and celebrating small wins while expecting setbacks. Students were encouraged to see progress as flexible and ongoing rather than all-or-nothing.

To wrap up the event, students created their own resolutions in a guided activity and had the chance to participate in a fun candy giveaway. The event emphasized realistic goal-setting as a protective factor for mental health, promoting self-compassion, practical expectations, and steady progress over pressure or perfection.
